I think it's a fair bit of good irony that one of the best-working features of Kinja updates ever was the introduction of the "hide pending replies" box now. It... works . It's not broken, doesn't cause my browser to crash, etc.

How did they get this right?

How did they get this right?

Because they've done this before. This was an early feature that they took away, to their own peril. After a week of ironing out the bumps, it ought to work pretty well.
